Sometimes we get stuck in black-or-white, all-or-nothing thinking that’s unhelpful. It’s where you think you’re either serious or you’re funny. You’re confident, or you’re insecure. You respect statues, or you don’t.

When you think in extremes about yourself, you end up feeling shitty because the reality is we’re super complex.

Instead, accept and embrace your contradictions and your inconsistencies and your imperfections.

There’s no perfect or right way to be. The truth is we get to show up in life imperfectly, or not at all.
